If you have been referred by another psychologist for medication, then yes, you need a psychiatrist. Further if you are looking for a diagnosis, or an in depth treatment plan (minimum 2 consultations), then go ahead and see a psychiatrist.

Our diagnostic tests are standardised and use a combination or self evaluation (screening tools) and psychologist/psychiatrist interview process. One part of tests are sent in email and other require an appointment time to be set up with the psychologist upon mutual convenience. At times a family member or close personal friend may be requested for helping build the entire history and clinical picture.

How long does a test take?

A self screening takes about 20-45 minutes depending on the scope of test. An intervention with the psychologist and psychiatrist may take longer.

At Least 7-10 working days are needed after ALL the tests have been completed. This is to ensure the tests are thoroughly checked and pass a 3 tier checking system.

A diagnosis can help understand what is going on with your mental health currently. At the same time it serves as a guiding tool for your mental health to measure improvement with time. It also helps know which therapy is best suited for you. A diagnosis also helps your doctor prescribe and build a treatment plan. Many individuals need diagnosis for institutions, jobs etc.
